As of June 30, 2022, a total of 9,573.65 kilometers of urban rail transit lines have been put into operation in 51 cities in mainland China, of which 7,529.02 kilometers are subways, accounting for 78.64%. In the first half of 2022, Nanping City will add one new urban rail transit operation city, and nine cities including Chongqing, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Kunming, Hangzhou, Changsha, Fuzhou, Shaoxing and Jiaxing will have new urban rail transit lines or new sections open for operation.
In the first half of 2022, a total of 366.87 kilometers of new urban rail transit lines were added. 7 new operating lines, 11 newly opened after-pass sections or extension sections of existing lines. The newly added 366.87 kilometers of urban rail transit operation lines involved 3 types of systems, among which, the subway is 319.29 kilometers, accounting for 87.03%; the urban fast rail is 18.20 kilometers, accounting for 4.96%; the tram is 29.38 kilometers, accounting for 8.01%.
