China built the first heavy-duty railway hydrogenation research demonstration station

On April 30, China National Energy Group’s heavy-haul railway hydrogen refueling station scientific research demonstration project was successfully completed, which marked the official completion of China’s first heavy-haul railway hydrogen refueling scientific research demonstration station, which is ready for hydrogen refueling.

Soon, the station will provide hydrogen energy supply for China’s first high-power hydrogen energy-powered shunting locomotive and China’s first “zero-emission” catenary operating vehicle powered by “hydrogen fuel cell + lithium battery”.

The project is located in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. It is an important part of China National Energy Group’s 2021 key scientific and technological research project “R&D and demonstration of key technical equipment for heavy-haul railway hydrogen energy application”.

The station will provide hydrogen energy supply for China’s first high-power hydrogen energy-powered shunting locomotive and China’s first “zero-emission” catenary operating vehicle powered by “hydrogen fuel cell + lithium battery”.

With the completion of the hydrogen refueling station, it will greatly reduce the fuel consumption of the locomotive after it is put into operation at the same time as the locomotive. Comprehensively improve the working environment of locomotive operators.
